En 1970 John Lennon publicaba su primer álbum en solitario tras la separación de los Beatles a finales de 1969. Este primer álbum lleva por título John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band y contiene el tema que encabeza este post, el mítico God. Esta canción es famosa por el estribillo en el que Lennon dice que no cree en una serie de personajes y cosas históricas, entre ellos los propios Beatles o la Biblia. Al final del estribillo acaba diciendo que sólo cree en Yoko y en él. Digamos que Mr. Lennon no tuvo ningún problema en escribir una letra un tanto controvertida, pero eso era algo que le caracterizaba, que no tenía miedo de decir lo que pensaba y así lo hizo.
